Match Night – Wednesday 20/20 Format
There was a good performance from the under 18s in the opening game
against much fancied Walsden. In a game reduced to 16 overs by the weather.
Walsden batted first and were restricted to 77 by tight bowling from
Dean Morris, Will Davidson and Rico Phiri, but it was
a four wicket haul from Jake Holgate, who like Paul Scholes
has come out of premature retirement to dumbfound the rst
of the squad with his natural ability and latest collection of tattoos. Jack
Unwin and Dean Morris then both retired on 25no before the last over arrived
with three needed. Come the last ball with scores tied, that man Holgate
clubbed the ball unceremoniously for four and the game was won. Mark Unwin was
especially pleased with the fielding which, looking at the bigger picture,
probably won us the game.
